A Pushcart Prize Special Mention

It’s good to have friends who read. It’s great when they read the same kinds of books you do so you can share. But the very best is when you have a friend who reads the Pushcart Prize anthologies so thoroughly that she can tell you you’ve gotten a Special Mention.

Very proud of this essay on the Slavery exhibit at the Rijksmuseum and my experience of racism in the Netherlands, thankful to Jameelah Lang for the brilliant editing and to Pleiades for agreeing to publish it, thrilled to be honored by the Pushcart Prize editors.
